It's strange, isn't it, how you sometimes carry the feel of something you've never touched before throughout your life? This is what happened to me and clay.
About 5 years ago I moved to a place in Florida that has a pottery studio: I felt like a piece of my innermost being had come home. I thought I would love the wheel, but it's more the handbuilt (coils, slabs, pinch-pots) pieces that I adore working on.
And I love all of it -- from conception to wedging (kneading) the wet clay, to transferring the idea in my head onto the piece, the conversation that happens between my fingers and the earth, the firing process, the glazing, the refiring --I'm having a love affair with it all.
I hope you enjoy these pieces. And I hope you find one you love just as much as I do.
Feel free to contact me with any thoughts or resposes to these pieces (or for something similar I can create just for you).
